Dear good people of Rugby,
Dear good people of Rugby,
Late last month our beloved Thomas Walsh died. He had lived in Rugby for a little over two and a half years. An Army veteran, he found a home.
He worked at the Hub. Heavier work was beyond his abilities due to the injuries that he sustained in Iraq.
Dennis Fred and his family opened their home and hearts to him. The Hub employees and customers enjoyed his jokes and laughter and gave him their support and affection. Some of the members of the community received his small acts of kindness.
His Uncle Roy had a great companion with whom to share his love of the outdoors.
Much of this we, his family in Michigan, did not know until we came to Rugby for the funeral. Only at the memorial at the Glad Tidings Assembly of God Church and the luncheon afterward (for which neither the Fred family nor the generous ladies of the congregation would accept any money) did we learn about the life he had made.
Thanks to all of you who helped Thom during his life and supported us in our grief.
The Family of
Thomas Walsh
