‘You haven’t seen the last of me’
It is with mixed emotions that I write my last editorial for the Pierce County Tribune. I always imagined that I’d be back in Rugby one day, but I never would have guessed that I would have the opportunity to work for the Tribune let alone be the General Manager.
I would never put myself in the category of the great Mark Carlson or Frank Hornstein, but I sat where they did. I give them huge credit for their time and dedication of putting the paper together. Because anyone who knows the newspaper business that there is no such thing as ever being done or caught up.
I have worked with pride to bring you local stories to keep you informed of happenings in our community. Those stories will be stored in peoples’ keepsakes and in the archives for decades to come. I will remember the borehole trying to sneak into our county, photographing numerous high school events; the wonderfulness of Farm Rescue … too many to name. I truly believe in the community of Rugby and that everyone has a story to tell – good or bad.
I would like to take this opportunity to thank all of the readers. During my time as the General Manager many people have been extremely supportive of the paper and indeed me personally. Serving as the General Manager was truly an exciting experience that I will never forget. I look forward to my next adventure. A break sounds wonderful along with more family time and soon wrestling season, and of course Christmas!
Just remember, you haven’t seen the last of me! I wish all of you luck at the Tribune! Cheers!
