Warm Tidings to You
The hustle and bustle of Christmas is here and it actually feels like it with this new blanket of white snow! Yah! ‘Tis the Season is here and here to stay!
As I write, there are only eight days until the big day. My presents are purchased, sitting beside the tree and waiting to be wrapped. But as I think of the things I need to do, I smile thinking about all of the things I love this wonderful time of year – my tree glistening with its many ornaments and lights twinkling at me, mittens, snowball fights, Christmas movies, sugar cookies, Christmas pictures new and old (I love coming home to check the mailbox!), Christmas music and just sharing time with friends and family.
Before we have to think about New Year’s resolutions, this is the time to think about the amazing happenings of the year. It’s easy to get caught up in the depressing daily news about ISIS, our nation’s economy, grain prices and the growth of crime even in our own community. Oh, and the presidential candidates blabbering on.
I’m grateful to be with my family and hear the giggles and laughter of love. Don’t forget the traditions of a home cooked meal and playing cards! We’ll have an overly warm kitchen (literally), but I wouldn’t change a thing. I hope you can take time from the hustle and bustle, slow down and reflect and enjoy the season.
