Heartland of America Library News 8-22

Thanks to those that visited our book saleseveral people found some reading material that they just couldn’t do without! The remaining books have been packed away and we are looking forward to another sale in October. We have different boxes to put out then, so watch for details and the big yellow sign in the window.

Reminder if you prefer to not come into the library, we are continuing to provide curbside pickup. Just call us and let us know your preference. Our phone number is 701-776-6223. Also know that you can take several books each time you visit, if you prefer to limit trips into the public. Books are checked out for a month and can be renewed with a phone call.

There are many online options available for book reading. Our library is part of the North Dakota Digital Consortium which provides access to Library2Go. All you need is a device or a smart phone and a library card number. Give us a call if you need assistance with online reading.

New to adult fiction are five books by Jasmine Guillory with titles “Royal Holiday,” “Party of Two,” “The Proposal,” “The Wedding Date” and “The Wedding Party.” This romance-comedy series begins with Alexa Monroe agreeing to go to a wedding with a guy she got stuck in an elevator with. Other adult fiction titles are “Desperate Girls” and “Her Deadly Secrets” by Laura Griffin, “Sawbones,” “Snake Oil” and “Switchback” by Pamela Fagan Hutchins, and “Outsider” by Linda Castillo.

We added some junior historical fiction for those interested in the world wars. Titles are “Prisoner of War” and “Into the Killing Seas” by Michael P. Spradlin and “”Making Bombs for Hitler,” “Stolen Girl” and “The War Below” by Marsha Forchuk Skrypuch, an author whose materials are very positively reviewed by Amazon readers.

New magazines this week are Time, People, Diabetic Living, Country Living, National Geographic History, Good Housekeeping, Harvard Health, Prevention, Family Tree and Love of Quilting.

The next meeting of the Heart of America Library Board of Trustees will be on Monday, Sept. 14, at 9 a.m. in the West Room, Heart of America Library.

We have free wifi access, 2 public computers, copy machines and also a fax machine for use by our patrons. Copies are 25 cents for black and white and 60 cents for color. It costs $1 per page to fax.

The library’s regular operating hours are:

Monday-Thursday, 10 a.m.-6 p.m.

Friday, 10 a.m.-5 p.m.

Saturday, 10 a.m.-4 p.m.
