SCHMIDT: Soybean seed deadline extended
The Pierce County Crop Improvement Association has an adequate supply of ND17009GT Soybean seed available for distribution to commodity growers for the 2018 growing season. Due to an omission in the January 27 edition of the Tribune, the deadline to request ND17009GT Soybean seed has been extended to February 16.
ND17009GT was developed by the soybean-breeding program at North Dakota State University, under the direction of project leader Ted Helms. ND17009GT is a glyphosate resistant soybean variety with relative maturity 00.9. It performed very well in trials across North Dakota and also in the Multi-State Uniform Regional Test. ND17009GT is resistant to race 4 of phytophthora root rot and has moderate tolerance to iron-deficiency chlorosis. ND17009GT has white flower color, tawny pubescence, brown pods, shiny seed coat luster and black hila. Development of this variety was made possible through funds provided by the North Dakota Soybean Council.
– 00.9 maturity
– Glyphosate resistant
– High yield potential
– Phytophthora root rot resistance (race 4)
Maturity group 00 is very early and primarily is grown in the northern Red River Valley and the north-central area of North Dakota.
Also at this time, any grower that wants to obtain Foundation or Registered seed class of the ND17009GT soybean variety must become a member of Dakota Select Seed. At this time Dakota Select Seed Membership is $100 for a lifetime membership.
