Sporadically Sara: Two guys to come home to
The last couple weeks of our life here in Grand Forks have been very busy! We got married on June 3, which was amazing! We got to stand up in front of the church and all of our loved ones and promise to spend the rest of our life together, it was everything I dreamt it would be. I looked into Tyler’s eyes and promised him the best and worst of me for the rest of my life. I got to walk down the aisle with my favorite and best Step Dad ever. My brother even came all the way home from Iowa for the occasion! With my Mom by my side, I put a ring on the finger of my soul mate. I have never been happier then when I walked out of the church as Mrs. Tyler Davis.
This Monday we welcomed a new addition to our family. We brought home a puppy! We are so excited to introduce Mr. Otto Wayne Davis, he is a heart breaker that’s for sure. He is only six weeks old and but has me and Tyler wrapped around his little toe. Otto is half Plott Hound and half Black Mouthed Cur, I had never heard of either breed until Otto was born. He is one of ten puppies! He looks more like his Dad then he does his Mom but he is a cutie. We are so excited to welcome him to our home and our hearts. I grew up around dogs and I don’t think there was ever a time in our house there wasn’t a dog to snuggle. Tyler on the other has only had one dog in their family. Tyler loves dogs and is very excited to be a puppy Dad. We got Otto from a friend that I work with, her Plott hound Hazel had the puppies. She was kind enough to let Tyler and I have pick of the liter and we have been able to go spend time with our puppy since about four days after they were born! We are very lucky to be able to start building a relationship with all of the puppies and their mother.
It has been so much fun watching the puppies grow up so fast and explore the world! We hope to be the best dog parents we can be for Otto. Dogs are such loving and amazing creatures we are so lucky to have them to share our world with. I don’t know how the mother of these ten puppies keeps track of them all, but she does! She counts them all every single night before they go to bed. She will touch each puppy with her nose counting to make sure she has all of them there. We went to visit them last week and we had all ten puppies playing in the yard and it was hard keeping track of them all with four adults watching them! I don’t know how Hazel does it!
We have had Otto for about four days now and I might actually go crazy if I don’t get at least six hours of sleep tonight. Mr. Otto is being kennel trained so he spends most of his nights finding his voice and practicing his howling. He is getting very good at keeping us awake all hours of the night. I hope that he will adjust soon so that I can get more than three hours of sleep in a row. No matter how many hours of sleep are lost we are lucky to have him and it will all be worth it in the end. Sharing your life with a dog is priceless.
I am a very lucky girl to have two great guys to come home to every day. They are both happy to see me when I walk in the door and they both love me. How could I ask for anything more? Thank you Otto and Tyler for making me smile every single day of my life! I love you both.
