Wolford News…
I want to wish all my readers a Blessed Christmas and a bountiful New Year.
This past week was very quiet with just some phone calls from my daughters, Brigit Pigeon of Fargo and Orlayne Held of rural Grand Forks. It seems there were quite a few days of fog. On Friday all eyes were on the television after a shooting at a town called Newtown in Connecticut. So sad that so many young children were shot! On Saturday I had a nice phone visit with my sister, Anna Hunt of Rock Lake, who had been in Washington state to visit her son, Jim and family. Also had a phone visit with former Rugby resident, Elaine Nelson of Fargo. On Sunday morning I accompanied Howard Thompson and Carolyn Solberg to worship at Wolford Lutheran Church services conducted by Pastor Dana Holter. Jon Nelson read scripture, and Carolyn Solberg served goodies at coffee hour following worship. In the afternoon Pastor Hanneman led worship in the dining room here at the Manor, and Helen Hawk and I served goodies and coffee following. Shortly after that Bethany Lutheran Church sang several Christmas songs in the Manor dining room. Temperatures were cool during the week. On Monday late afternoon I had a nice phone call from my granddaughter, Samantha Johnson. Later the Lions Club singing group came and we all sang Christmas songs together, and they brought a bountiful lunch that was enjoyed with coffee or juice. Thanks to all those groups who come to entertain us here.
