By Staff | Sep 16, 2011

Rugby held the District 3 tractor driving contest on Monday, July 18 at the Rugby Sales Barn. The two representatives from Rugby were Kent Schmaltz and Brandon Filler. Nine students from District 3 participated in the contest. They had to drive a tractor and trailer through a predetermined safety course demonstrating safe operating skills and the ability to back up the tractor. Both Kent and Brandon received silvers at this event. The tractor and trailer were donated by Gooseneck Implement of Rugby.

The Rugby FFA officer team held their annual FFA officer retreat in Mandan this past July. The officers include: President Kristen Mundahl, Vice President Taylor DeMers, Parliamentarian Brian Jordan, Sentinel Chris Seaver, Reporter Preston Vetsch, Treasurer Matt Johnson, Secretary Kayla Koehmstedt, and advisors, Rick Vannett, Nikki Fideldy, and Larry Sitter. In Mandan the group toured Cloverdale, went to the zoo, and held meetings about the upcoming year.
