Larry Alois Schumacker was born as a twin on February 10, 1946 to Frank and Mary (Weigel) Schumacker in Rugby, North Dakota. He died at the age of 79 years on Tuesday, January 6, 2026 at the Heart of America Medical Center in Rugby, North Dakota.
Larry was raised and grew up on the family farm northwest of Rugby and lived there most of his life. He spent his time working on the farm and ranch with his dad and brothers. In his mid 60’s, he left the farm and moved to Grafton for two years, where he worked for Friendship, Inc. He returned to Rugby and lived in town to be near his brother, Frank. Throughout his life, he always enjoyed walking, gardening and driving his ATV 6X6.
Larry is survived by his siblings, Jerome, Melvin, Isabella Goldade, Frank, twin Lorraine Fritel, Marian Rieck and Duane; nieces, nephews; other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Eugene and sister, Katherine Haman; as well as other relatives.
Funeral services were held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, January 13 at the Anderson Funeral Home in Rugby with burial in the spring at the Little Flower Catholic Cemetery in Rugby. Father Franklin Miller, officiating.
