Regina Eisenzimmer, the daughter of Jacob and Martha (Kramer) Duchsherer was born on July 9, 1930 in Karlsruhe, North Dakota. She died at the age of 95 years on Wednesday, November 12, 2025 at Trinity Hospital in Minot, North Dakota.

Regina was raised in the rural farm home of her parents, was baptized, had first communion and was confirmed in the St. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Karlsruhe. She received her education at the country schoolhouse near her home. She continued her work on her family’s farm, whether it be working inside the home or outside, wherever help was needed. On June 30, 1948, she was united in marriage to Bennie John Eisenzimmer at the St. Peter & Paul Catholic Church in Karlsruhe. The couple took over his family farm, where they went on to farm small grains and raise dairy cattle. They were blessed with 5 children. Regina took care of the household, raised her children, kept the yard and garden and worked alongside Bennie. Regina also helped Bennie drive school bus for 29 years. In her younger years, she cooked for weddings, reunions, also at the Balta School and Hub Restaurant. Bennie and Regina retired in 1990 and in September of 1997, they moved their farm home into Rugby.

Regina was a wonderful cook, baker and seamstress. Many enjoyed her homemade baked goods, including her homemade bread and knoephla soup. She had special customers for many years, who would come to her for seamstress skills, whether it be to make a dress, hem pants or fix a zipper. She also worked on a church project, where she sewed a dress a day and they were sent to Africa. In her spare time, she loved playing cards, putting together puzzles, and watching birds. She was a member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church in Balta and Christian Mothers, helping with many church lunches. She was a woman of faith, who prayed the rosary daily, kept positive and lived a happy, healthy 95 years. She loved her family, whom she was proud of and they will miss her dearly.
