Harold Frank Mueller, 103, died at the Harold S. Haaland Home on Sunday morning, August 24, 2025. He was born at the Good Samaritan Hospital in Rugby on September 18, 1921 to August Reinhart and Helen Christine Gessner Mueller. Harold grew up on the family farm in Reno Valley Township – Pierce County until they moved in Rugby in 1932. He graduated from Rugby High School in 1939. As a youth, he displayed talent to repair machines including bicycles and also maintained the heating system in the original Johnson Clinic building at Second Street and Second Avenue South West.

Harold enrolled in the Sprayberry Academy of Radio based in Pueblo, Colorado and finished the class in about 1945.

On May 17, 1953 he married Pearl Hildegaard Jacobson in Rugby.

As a certified radio-television technician, he operated Mueller’s Radio and Television first at 313 South Main Avenue from May, 1946 until he moved to the former Johnson Clinic building on Second Street in 1953. He also repaired household appliances as a certified technician by the Frigidaire Company.

After his well earned retirement in 2010, he enjoyed walking several miles a day in his nineties and still doing yard work at his home. In early 2025 he entered the Haaland Home.

He was a long time member of Bethany Lutheran Church until its closure and had been an early member of the Rugby Chamber of Commerce.

Harold is survived by their two children, Diane Vincent- Rugby and Paul Mueller- Corpus Christi, Texas. He also leaves 6 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife on June 13, 2014, his parents, a sister, Mary, as an infant, and brothers, Art, Ben, and Allen. A daughter-in-law, Liz Mueller also preceded him in death.

A private service will be held in mid-September.
