Maddock

Alan Troy Ness, 59, of Maddock, ND passed away unexpectedly and much too soon, on Friday, May 2, 2025 at his home. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday, May 17, 2025 at the Maddock Community Center.

Alan was born February 24, 1966 in Grand Forks, ND to Noreen (Johnson) and Gary Ness one week before the Historic Blizzard of 1966. He moved with his mom and dad to Washington State when he was one years old. Alan grew up and later raised his family in Washington. He moved back to North Dakota in 22014, loving the slower paced life. Alan settled in Maddock, ND and was employed with CenDak Elevator in Maddock, perhaps following in his grandpa and uncle’s footsteps and learning a lot about farming. He enjoyed bird hunting with his two girls, German Shorthairs, Lucy and Mindy.

Alan is survived by his mother, Noreen; his children, Christopher of Marysville, WA, Joshua of Rugby, ND, and Krystal of Graham, WA; grandchildren, KJ, Nash, Jayde, Indica, Melodie and Lola; brother, Todd; numerous cousins, aunts, and uncles.

His dad and brother, Robbie and grandparents, Norris and Florence Johnson and Vurl and Jean Ness welcome him at his eternal home. His memory lives on in us that knew and loved him.
