Alvin Arstein, age 91, passed away peacefully on Thursday, November 14, 2024, at his home in Rolette, ND.

Alvin I. Arstein was born on July 30, 1933, in Rugby, ND to John and Christine (Eikevik) Arstein. Alvin was a farmer, a plumber, and a family man. He spent two years in the United States Army. He worked as a plumber for many years, forming life-long friendships. Alvin and Janet May Teigen were married on October 25, 1955, at Valle Lutheran Church in Rolette. Together they raised three children; Diane, Richard, and JoAnn. In the Kohlmeier township, Rolette County, ND, Alvin, and Janet built their house and farmed. Alvin enjoyed farming, horses, and golfing, often found at the local Rolette Golf course, being a charter member, with family and many good friends. Alvin was a humble man, always willing to do a good deed and not expecting recognition for any given task. He was a member of Valle Lutheran Church in Rolette and was steadfast in his faith. Alvin was loved dearly by his family, his children, grandchildren, and many friends. He will be lovingly remembered and forever missed.

Alvin is survived by his children, Diane Arstein of Rolette, Richard (Nancy) Arstein of Rolette, and JoAnn (Scott) Freeman of Neepawa, Manitoba; five grandchildren, David (Joy) Arstein, Emma Arstein, Jaya (Russ Graf) Freeman, Jonah Freeman, and Siri Freeman; great-granddaughter, Rosie May Graf; brother-in-law, Ole (Bonnie) Teigen of Cottage Grove, MN; and nieces and nephews.

Alvin was preceded in death by his parents, John and Christine Arstein, wife, Janet Arstein, brothers, Thomas and Marvin Arstein, and sister and brother-in-law, Ida (Verl) Vrem.

Casket Bearers are Scott Freeman, Nancy Arstein, David Arstein, Joy Arstein, Emma Arstein, Jaya Freeman, Jonah Freeman, and Siri Freeman.

A visitation will be held from 5:00 to 7:00 PM on Wednesday, November 20, 2024, at Valle Lutheran Church, Rolette, ND with a Prayer Service at 7:00 PM. A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, November 21, 2024, at Valle Lutheran Church, Rolette, ND. Pastor Gene Wilson officiating. Burial will take place in Willow Creek Cemetery, Overly, ND.
