Gordon Duane Boucher, the son of Delbert and Mabel (Kjorvestad) Boucher was born on July 9, 1940 in Fargo, North Dakota. He died at the age of 83 years on Wednesday, November 1, 2023 at the Heart of America Medical Center in Rugby, North Dakota.

Gordon was raised at yellow corners, Rolette and graduated from high school in 1958 from Notre Dame Academy in Willow City. While in high school, he met his high school sweetheart, Yvonne Cote. Gordon enlisted in the U.S. Army on January 21, 1959 and was honorably discharged on March 26, 1962. On April 11, 1959, he married the love of his life, Yvonne at Notre Dame Catholic Church in Willow City. While he was stationed in Germany, back home, his wife delivered their first of four children. They made their home in the Rolette area and he started farming, milking cows, raising all types of farm and domestic animals with the help of his wife and kids. In 1981, he started working for the elevator and managed it until his retirement in the early 2000’s. He was a strong supporter and very involved with the Dethman Armstrong American Legion Post #194 and it became his full time job after retirement. He would organize the bingo, pull tabs, legion programs, mow the yard and was awarded for his 30 years of leadership in the Legion. He was a loving husband and father, who worked hard and will be greatly missed.

Gordon is survived by his wife of 63 years; children, Wanda (Wesley) Rose of Grand Forks, Gregory (Janeen) Boucher of Garrison, Colleen (Alan) Roberge of Burnsville, Minnesota and Kim (Bill) Biberdorf of Rolette; grandchildren, Cory (Kristin) Rose, Angela (Robby) Anderson, Steven (Amanda) Boucher, Kaitlyn (Joe) Wood, Beth Boucher, Chelsie (JJ) Griesinger, Jeremy Roberge, Kayla (Ryan) Cook, Lucas Roberge, Logan Roberge, Michael (Casie) Biberdorf, Nicholas (Emily) Biberdorf, Michelle (Kennan) Arlien and Zachary Biberdorf; great grandchildren, Brinley Rose, Claire Boucher, Roman Griesinger, Gordon Griesinger, Riley Cook, Caden Cook and Esmae Kahler; siblings, Leona Boucher of St. Louis, Darlene (Lawrence) Miller of Arizona, Darrell (Sandra) Boucher of Grand Forks, Dorothy Dohlen of Missouri and Dona Byre of Warroad, Minnesota; nieces, nephews; other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; Yvonne’s parents, Wilfred (Flora) Cote and Yvonne’s siblings, Ralph, Clarence, Emede, Gerald, Luella, Marian, Florence, Rosanne and Geraldine.

The Mass of Christian burial was held at 10:00 a.m. Monday, November 6, 2023 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Rolette. Father T.T. Paulraj, Celebrant.
