Marcella G. Risovi, 90, Heimdal, North Dakota, passed away Sunday, November 6, 2022 at St. Aloisius Medical Center, Harvey, North Dakota. Funeral Services will be Saturday, November 12 at 10 am at First Lutheran Church, Fessenden, North Dakota. Pastor Shirley Teske will officiate and burial will be in Hoff Lutheran Cemetery, Heimdal, North Dakota. Visitation will be from 5:00-7:30 p.m., Friday, November 11, 2022 at Nelson Funeral Home, Fessenden, North Dakota and one hour prior to services at the church.

Marcella Gladys Rierson, daughter of Mary (Voeller) and Gerhardt (Gary) Rierson was born on September 29, 1932 in Arkdale, Wisconsin. The family moved to Silva, ND in 1937. Marcella attended grades 1 – 12 in Silva. After graduating she worked as a nurse’s aide at the Rugby hospital. On April

12, 1952, Marcella married Raymond Risovi at Fessenden. They settled on the current family farm four miles east of Heimdal.

Marcella attended Hoff Lutheran Church in Heimdal and was a member of the Ladies Aid throughout her life. She was a member of the Heimdal Willing Homemakers, a leader of the Heimdal Happy

Home Helpers 4-H Club, member of the Heimdal 55 Club, member of the American Legion Auxilary in Maddock, and a “Official Red Hatter”.

She was an avid gardener and bird watcher. Tending her flower gardens and grandchildren brought

“light” into her life. She enjoyed her pets and polka music. Marcella loved working with fabric and making quilts.

Marcella is survived by three daughters. Donna (Richard) Rau of Fessenden, ND, Diane (Tom) Keller of Harvey, ND, and Darla Siewert (friend, Kent Simmons) of Heimdal, ND; three granddaughters,

Krista Rau of Bismarck, ND, Angela (Scott) Mack of Anamoose, ND, and Mary of Rochester, MN; two

great grandchildren, Taylor Mack of Rochester, MN, Kolby Mack of Anamoose, ND; brother and

sister in laws, Robert and Margaret Rierson of Oregon City, OR, Mavis Rierson, Hopkins, MN, Vera

Risovi, Harvey, ND and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Marcella was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond, her parents, and twin brother, Clinton

Rierson.
