Janet Pousson

Janet Pearl Pousson, the daughter of Peder and Gertie (Ness) Olsen was born on January 18, 1947 at the Good Samaritan Hospital in Rugby, North Dakota. She died at the age of 75 years on Tuesday, October 18, 2022 at the Sanford Hospital in Bismarck, North Dakota.
Janet was raised on the family farm of her parents, attended school through the 8th grade in Barton and graduated from Rugby High School. She continued her education at Minot Business College. Janet was once married to John Pousson and they were blessed with two daughters, Janette and Jennifer. John was in the military, so they lived in Washington, Germany and again in Washington. After Janet raised her girls, she opened up a deli in Tacoma. In 1995, she moved to North Dakota, where she worked at the Haaland Home and hospital in Rugby until her retirement a few years ago. She was a hard worker, always willing to lend a hand and wanted to help solve any problem. She kept busy with her family, tending to her plants and flowers, enjoying coffee with friends and her nightly phone calls with her mom. Janet enjoyed going to museums and traveling, especially to Medora and her trips with her mom, they did many things together. She was diagnosed with cancer in July of 2021 and fought hard until her body could not fight any more. She loved her family, always wanting to keep up with what they were doing and they meant everything to her. She always had a positive outlook on life and had a blessed life.
Janet is survived by her daughters, Janette of Bismarck and Jennifer of Rugby; four grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; her mother, Gertie of Rugby; sisters, Donna (Duane) Pritschet of Willow City; Pam (Rick) Syvertson of Overly; an aunt, Helen Vollmer of Willow City; nieces, nephews; other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by three grandchildren; a sister, Geneva and her father.
Memorial services were held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, October 26 at Barton Lutheran Church in Barton with burial in the East Barton Cemetery. Pastor Connie Monson, Officiating
