Elizabeth Larson
Jan. 30, 1940 – Oct. 15, 2022
Elizabeth “Betty” Rose
Larson, the daughter of
Frank and Mary Ann
(Feist) Jundt, was born on
January 30, 1940 in Fulda,
McHenry County, North
Dakota. She died peace-
fully on Saturday, October
15, 2022 at the age of 82
years at the Heart of
America Care Center in
Rugby, North Dakota.
Betty was raised in
Towner, where she at-
tended school through her
junior year of high school.
She attended her senior
year at Minot Bishop
Ryan, while she was a
nanny and lived with the
family. On November 25,
1960, she was united in
marriage to Howard Dean
Larson in Towner. Fol-
lowing their marriage,
they made their home in
Rugby for almost a year,
then moved to Leeds for
three and a half years be-
fore moving back to Rug-
by, where they settled and
raised their three chil-
dren, Susan, Karen and
Rick. Betty worked at
several different places in
Rugby, including Ben
Franklin, Bucks Sport
Shop, The Corn Coach,
the Heart of America Care
Center and the Growing
Place Daycare. She also
did the bookwork for
Howard’s business,
Howard’s Repair. She was
a Girl Scout leader for
several years, volunteered
at the Long Term Care
Center and sold Princess
House Crystal. Betty and
Howard enjoyed camping
after their children were
grown and spent most
weekends at the lake dur-
ing the summer months.
She was very creative and
could sew and crochet.
Betty loved to entertain,
whether it be a birthday
or someone just stopping
by, she enjoyed company
and loved to visit. If she
didn’t know you, she
would start a conversation
and get to know you. She
was famous for making
her lefse and kuchen for
the holidays. She was a
kind, gentle, welcoming
lady with a smile that
warmed anyone. Her
favorite things were her
family, church and visit-
ing people. She also loved
her dogs and took good
care of them, as she did
her family. She liked to
laugh and would often get
a case of the giggles. Ho-
ward was the love of her
life, and they lived a
beautiful life together. Her
family was everything to
her, she loved them very
much and enjoyed spend-
ing time with her children
and grandchildren; whom
she was so proud of. Ho-
ward died in 2015 and in
2018, she moved to the
Heart of America Care
Center in Rugby.
