Oct 15, 2022

April 1, 1976 – Oct. 7, 2022

Kimberly Ann Ander-

son, the daughter of Dick

and Pamela (Wirtz)

Ramsdell was born on

April 1, 1976 in Minot,

North Dakota. She died at

the age of 46 years on Fri-

day, October 7, 2022 at

the home of her parents,

under the care of her fam-

ily and hospice in Rugby,

North Dakota.

Kim was raised in Ken-

mare, where she attended

school and graduated, the

class of 1994. Her love for

the outdoors, started at a

young age, she would

play little league with the

boys, football on the play-

ground or go hunting with

her dad. When she wasn’t

outdoors, she wanted to

be with her big sister,

Sheila and was so excited

when she got a little

brother, Derek to boss

around. After high school,

she attended Minot State

University, then Bismarck

State College, to play vol-

leyball and basketball and

went back to MSU, where

she graduated. On New

Year’s Eve, 1999, she met

Steve Anderson on a

blind date through mutual

friends at a rodeo in

Minot, while she was

teaching and coaching

volleyball in Mohall. Kim

and Steve were united in

marriage on July 21, 2001

at St. Agnes Catholic

Church in Kenmare. They

made their home on

Steve’s family farm/ranch

in rural York. They were

blessed with two children,

Brooke and Cole. Kim

taught at Maddock and

continued her education,

receiving her Master’s de-

gree from NDSU and later

became the principal at

Little Flower School in

Rugby. She would help

Steve at the farm when he

needed, enjoyed mowing

the yard, and loved to

keep her garden and her

many, many flowers that

made the yard beautiful.

Kim was all about her

faith, family, teaching,

coaching and friends. She

followed her kids in

everything they were in-

terested in and signed

them up for everything,

keeping them busy! She

loved to ‘instigate’ family

trips and there are many

vacations her and her

family enjoyed with

memories and stories that

will be told forever. One

of her favorite places to go

was anywhere there was

an ocean, she loved to

look and enjoy its beauty.

There are many things she

loved in life, besides her

family, she loved the lake,

coaching volleyball, any

country music concert,

junking/rummage sales,

black Friday and garden-

ing. Her family says that

on Thanksgiving Day, she

would go through the

fliers and plan the next

day’s shopping schedule!

She loved to decorate for

Christmas and spend all

the time she could with

her family, who meant the

world to her. She was a

member of the St. Mary’s

Catholic Church in Knox,

North Dakota Council of

Education Leaders, North

Dakota Association of

School Administrators,

and the North Dakota As-

sociation of Secondary

School Principals. Kim

was diagnosed with canc-

er in 2016, she per-

severed, fought, never

gave up, continued to

work and participate in

everything family and
