John Britton

John Howard Britton,

the son of John and Betty

(Smith) Britton, was born

on April 5, 1948, in Bel-

lingham Washington. He

died at the age of 73 years,

Thursday March 24, 2022,

at his home in Rugby,

North Dakota in the care

of his wife and hospice.

John grew up in Wash-

ington and attended

school in Bothell, Wash-

ington, graduation from

High School there, the

class of 1966. John was in-

ducted into the U.S. Army

in 1967 and stationed in

Heidelberg, Germany in

Army Intelligence. He was

honorably discharged in

June of 1969 and returned

home to Washington

where he took a position

with the Weyerhaeuser

Lumber Company in

Everett, Washington.

Later, John would work

for the Northshore School

District 417 in Bothell,

Washington. On March

18, 1988, John was united

in marriage to Jane

Bisbee, a former North

Dakotan, in Monroe, WA.

The couple made their

home in Washington until

moving to Rugby, North

Dakota in 2010. He loved

fishing, hunting, going for

drives, was an avid 50’s

and 60’s CD and vinyl

record collector. John was

also noted for collecting

vintage radios and for his

love of music.

John is survived by his

wife Jane of Rugby;

daughter, Karrie(Ed) Phil-

lips of Gold Bar, WA;

stepson Chad Halvorson

of Okanogan, WA; moth-

er, Betty of Millcreek,

WA; sister, Janet (John)

Habel of Powhatan, VA;

Brothers, David (Wei)

Britton of Nevada; Eric

(Stacey) Britton of Everett,

WA; many grandchildren,

great-grandchildren,

nephews, other relatives;

and friends. John was pre-

ceded in death by his fa-

ther.

Graveside services with

Military Honors will take

place in the York Com-

munity Cemetery at a

later date and will be an-

nounced then.
