Johnson, the son of Nels
and Irene (Scobba)
Johnson, was born on
June 17, 1949 in Lewis-
ton, Idaho. He died at the
age of 72 years, after a bat-
tle with leukemia on Sa-
turday, December 4, 2021
at the Maryhill Manor in
Enderlin, North Dakota.
Craig was born in Idaho
and grew up on the family
farm. After completing his
education, he enlisted in
the U.S. Army on Febru-
ary 12, 1968. After bravely
serving two tours in Viet-
nam he was honorably
discharged on October 11,
1974 and ended his mili-
tary service at Ft. Lewis in
Washington State. His fu-
ture careers would in-
clude working at the
Olympia Brewing Com-
pany in Olympia, WA,
Marin Outdoors in Santa
Rosa, CA, and driving for
John’s Transport until an
injury forced him into re-
tirement.
Craig’s daughter Laura
was born in 1973 while he
was stationed in Heidel-
berg, Germany and his
daughter Melissa followed
shortly thereafter in 1975
and born in Olympia,
Washington. He was a
very proud father of his
girls and focused the last
several months of his life
around loving on them
and all those around him.
Craig’s light shined bright
and he was known to all
as a very positive man.
His legacy will be the in-
fluential role he played in
so many lives as he was
committed to lifting peo-
ple up which was one of
his very special gifts from
God. He will be greatly
missed.
Craig is survived by:
his daughters, Laura
Marie Gilvary and Melissa
Louise Woodburn, all of
Palm Coast, Florida;
grandsons, Nathan Hig-
gins, Jr., Jack and Ryan
Gilvary; siblings, Judith
Larsen, Jerry Willson, Art
Bakken, Nels Sneve, Su-
san Folk Oyen, Irene
(Pam) Koethke and Gary
Folk; his Rugby neigh-
bors, who became his
family, Jeff, Brenda, Brady
and Riley Olsen; extended
family Cheryl Baker Har-
mel and Mike Nichols;
nieces, nephews; other re-
latives and friends.
He was preceded in
death by: Jerald Johnson,
Jerome Johnson, Jack
Willson, Lonnie Odegaard
and Janet Johnson.
Memorial services and
Celebration of Life will be
held in the spring of 2022
with full military honors.
