Mardell (Anderson) Bo-
gar Poirier, 92, Minot,
formerly of Rugby, died
Wednesday, November
24, 2021, in a Minot nurs-
ing home.
Mardell was born on
November 7, 1929, in
Kandiyohi Township of
Renville County, the
daughter of Bernard and
Eva (Mott) Anderson of
Kenmare. She was raised
in the Kenmare area,
where she attended coun-
try school and graduated
from Kenmare High
School in 1947.
Mardell was united in
marriage to Gordon Bogar
on December 26, 1947, in
Kenmare. They made
their home in Minot for a
brief time before moving
to Seattle, WA. They re-
turned to North Dakota,
following Gordon’s job in
construction back home.
They made their home in
Rugby, ND and lived there
for 25 years while they
owned and operated a res-
taurant. Gordon died on
March 13, 1991.
Mardell moved to
Minot in 1993 and was
employed by Dr. Howard
Reeve’s family as a nanny
for their daughter, Erica.
Mardell was united in
marriage to Morris Poirier
on October 28, 1995, in
Minot. They enjoyed 15
years together until his
passing on September 22,
2010.
Mardell was a member
of Bread of Life Lutheran
Church, Minot where she
participated in the church
circle. She was a past
member of First Lutheran
Church and the Eagles
Club in Rugby. She en-
joyed gardening, especial-
ly flowers, reading, travel-
ing, dancing and cooking.
Mardell is survived by
her children: Gordon
Bogar, Jr., Minot, Cheryl
(Donald) Doyle, Broom-
field, CO, Darlene (Calvin)
Rehling, Cheyenne, WY,
Lana Bogar (Joel England),
Rugby and Terry Bogar,
Indiana; 8 grandchildren;
19 great grandchildren; 1
great great grandchild; sis-
ter: Bonnie (Lyle) Fossen,
Minot; brother-in-law:
Lowell Hoffman, Min-
nesota along with
numerous nieces,
nephews, cousins and
friends.
Mardell was preceded
in death by her parents;
husbands Gordon Bogar
and Morris Poirier; broth-
ers: Bernard, Jr. and Bob;
sisters: Carolle and Eva-
lin; infant twin great
granddaughters Holly and
Ashley and great grand-
son: Michael.
Celebration of Life
Service: 2:00 p.m. Tues-
day, November 30, 2021,
at Bread of Life Lutheran

Cemetery, Rugby.
Visitation: One hour
prior to the service at the

Children’s Hospital.
