Donald Percy “Red”
Peterson, age 87 of Gran-
ville and formerly of Knox
died Jan. 2, 2020, at his
home in Granville.
He was born Jan. 17,
1933, in the rural Knox
farm home of his parents,
John and Myrtle (Thomp-
son) Peterson. In served
in the U.S. Navy from
1955 to 1959 when he was
honorably discharged. He
was once married to Mar-
lys Gartner.
Red is survived by: his
son, Eugene of Pembina;
brothers, David (Char-
lotte) Peterson and Ken-
neth (Beverly) Peterson,
all of Longview, WA; sis-
ter, Karen (Alan) Crows-
ton of Cavalier, longtime,
friend, companion and
caregiver, Shelia Lureen
of Grandville, and her
family. He is also sur-
vived by grand and
great-grandchildren,
nieces, nephews, other re-
latives, and many friends.
He was preceded in
death by: brothers, Walter
& Junior; sisters, Elvina
Allan, Mary Jane Halvor-
son, Carol Gigstad, Loretta
Peterson & Marlys Peter-
son; and his parents.
Memorial services were
held on Friday, June 25 at
2:00 p.m. in the Anderson
Funeral Home Chapel,
Rugby with Rev. Doug
Stave officiating. Burial
with Military Honors in
the Knox Lutheran
