Richard Wurgler, 81,
Knox, N.D. passed away
Thursday, March 11, at a
Minot hospital. Richard
was born March 16, 1939,
in Rugby to Alfred
Wurgler Jr. and Olga (Lo-
ken) Wurgler.
Richard was raised and
educated in Knox, gra-
duating from high school
in 1957. Following gra-
duation, he was employed
at Al’s Service and Repair
in Knox. On July 7, 1963
he married Edith Hadler
in Surrey, N.D. They
made their home in Knox
for the next 57 years. In
1973 he bought Al’s Ser-
vice and operated it until
1996 when he went to
work for Rugby Equip-
ment. He also farmed
near Knox. Following re-
tirement in 2012 he
repaired machinery for lo-
cal farmers.
Richard is survived by
his wife, Edie, Knox; sons,
Ryan (Tina) Wurgler,
Stillwater, MN and Steve
(Joy) Wurgler, Tallahas-
see, FL; five grandchil-
dren, Daniel, Erin, Benja-
min, Brynn, and Joshua
Wurgler; sister, Donna
(Darryl) Blessum, Guthrie,
OK; and several nieces
and nephews.
He was preceded in
death by his parents and a
sister, Beverly Heidel-
baugh.
A memorial service
will be held in the sum-
mer of 2021 at a time and
place to be announced.
