Annie Burckhard, the
daughter of Joseph and
Margaret (Goetz) Jundt

at the Good Samaritan
Hospital in Rugby, North
Dakota. She died at the
age of 94 years on Satur-
day, January 23, 2021 at
the Heart of America Care
Center in Rugby, North
Dakota.
Annie was a twin and
was raised on a farm
south east of Berwick and
received her education at
a country school across
the fields from her home.
She graduated from the
8th grade at that country
school. On October 2,
1944, she was united in

North Dakota. Following
their marriage, they lived
a short time in Towner
before moving to the

which was across the field
from where she was born.
They raised their family
on that family farm and
farmed small grains and
had a dairy herd. Annie
helped milk the cows and
helped in the hay fields in
the summer, along John’s
side, while being a loving
mother, managing a
household of 9 children
and also raised a big gar-
den. In 1987, the couple
retired and moved to Rug-
by. In January of 2006,
they moved to an apart-
ment in Minot. John died
in 2008. Annie moved to
Elmcraft Assisted Living
Center in Minot in No-
vember of 2019 and on
December 28, 2020, she
moved to the Heart of
America Care Center in
Rugby until her death.
She was a member of the
Christian Mothers,
Catholic Order of Fores-
ters, Fulda St. Anselm’s
Church choir and sang
with a group that sang in
German for functions
around the area and state.
She was also a member of
the Little Flower Catholic
Church in Rugby and Our
Lady of Grace Catholic
Church in Minot. She en-
joyed gardening, sewing,
reading, baking and cook-
ing, putting puzzles to-
gether and playing soft-
ball. She was proud to
