Barbara A. Schneibel
passed to eternal life on
September 15, 2020 in
Bismarck. Barbara was
born in Rugby on August
22, 1933 to Adam and
Clara (Voeller) Held. She
grew up in the rural Selz,
North Dakota family farm
and received her educa-
tion there.
Barbara was united in
marriage to Maurus
Schneibel at St. Anthony’s
Catholic Church in Selz
on October 20, 1952. They
farmed near Fulda until
1958 when they pur-
chased a farm near Selz.
Here they raised their
family of 5 sons on the
family farm. In 1975,
they moved to Rugby
where she provided day-
care for several years in
her home. After Maurus
passed away in March of
2009, Barbara moved to
Haaland Manor Apart-
ments in Rugby and en-
joyed all the activities
provided. In 2017, she
moved to St. Gabriel’s
Community in Bismarck.
She loved the vibrant
community and was al-
ways busy with the ac-
tivities. She was especial-
ly proficient at Wii bowl-
ing.
Barbara was a member
of Christian Mothers of St.
Anselm’s in Fulda, St.
Anthony’s in Selz and Lit-
tle Flower in Rugby. She
was also a member of
Catholic Order of
Forrester’s. She enjoyed
baking, gardening, cook-
ing, loved to embroider
and shared her em-
broidered items with her
family and had a talent for
playing the organ and pi-
ano. She loved to play
cards, especially with her
grandchildren, but her
greatest passion was fami-
ly and her faith.
Barbara is survived by
her children, Darrell
(Susie) of Bismarck,
Monte (Gayle) of Rugby,
Randy (Deb) of Oxbow,
Gary of Aberdeen, S.D.,
and Kevin (MaryKaye) of
Manvel. 11 Grandchildren
include Dustin Schneibel,
Jaime (Chad) Wolf, Micha-
el Schneibel, Angie (Ja-
son) Jelinek, Ryan (Jessi-
ca) Schneibel, Jacey (Bill)
Kramer, Casey (Justin)
Barclay, Brendon, Tho-
mas, Jennifer and Gabriel
Schneibel. 16 Great
Grandchildren include:
Maddie, Brayden, Hailey,
Mikayla, Harper, Shacey,
Willow, Ellie, Sadie,
Tahlia, Oliver, Quinn,
Kinsley, Peyton, Lydia,
and Cooper.
She is survived by sis-
ter Loretta Heilman in
Bismarck. She is survived
by her sisters-in-law Re-
becca (Red) Cusey, Pau-
line Weiland, Barbara (Ed)
Schafer, Phyllis
Schneibel, Ann Schneibel
and numerous nieces and
nephews. She was pre-
ceded in death by her
husband Maurus, parents
Adam and Clara Held,
brother and sister-in-law
Edward and Mary Held
and brother-in-law Joe
Heilman.
Mass of Christian Buri-
al was held at 11 a.m.
Sat., Sept. 19th at the Lit-
tle Flower Catholic
Church, Rugby with buri-
al in the church cemetery.
