Charlotte Ann (Burr) Blake

Charlotte Ann (Burr) Blake, the daughter of Marion and Viola (Beck) Burr was born on July 21, 1947 in Custer, South Dakota. She died at the age of 72 years on Friday, December 13, 2019 at the Trinity Hospital in Minot, North Dakota.
Charlotte was raised in the home of her parents and received her education at Ardmore School in Igloo, South Dakota. On August 31, 1963 she was united in marriage to Donald Blake, the love of her life. The couple made their homes in several towns throughout South Dakota, Missouri, Arkansas, Nebraska and finally settling in Towner, North Dakota. They were blessed with six children.
Charlotte had various employment over the years including working as a CNA at the hospital in Rugby, in production at Winger Cheese in Towner and for Towner Nursery. In later years, she did in home health care for the elderly in Minot. Being a wife and mother was her greatest accomplishment. Charlotte enjoyed different crafts: sewing clothing for her children when they were young, gardening, needle work, and was an avid reader. She took to crocheting and stuck with that her entire adult life, making baby afghans, scarves and wash clothes. She also had a great passion for animals, pets and livestock alike. Charlotte
was a faithful member of St. Cecilia’s Catholic Church and its Christian Mothers. Charlotte was happiest when she could sit and snuggle a new baby. Her grandchildren and great grandchildren have been very special to her.
She is survived by her husband of 56 years, Don; her children, Brenda (David) Schmitt, Towner; Donald (Joann), Minot; Donna (Terry) Ness, Towner; Duane, Minot and Delvina Blake, Grand Forks; 15 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her son Robert Sr.; two sisters, Beverly Houch and Gloria Lindsey; and her parents.
Mass of Christian burial was held at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, December 18th at St. Cecilia Catholic Church, Towner with spring burial in the Church cemetery. Father Michael Schommer, Celebrant.
