Marion Joan (Kriedeman) Miller

June 18, 1933 – Oct. 25, 2019

Marion Joan (Kriedeman) Miller, the daughter of Arthur and Margaret (Schiele) Kriedeman was born on June 18, 1933 in the home of her parents in Guthrie, North Dakota. Marion passed at the age of 86 years on Friday, October 25, 2019 in the Minot home of her daughter, Sharon.

Marion was raised in the Guthrie home of her parents where she received her elementary education. She completed her education, graduating from Drake High School. From 1950 to 1952, she clerked for McHenry County Judge J.B. Semrau in Towner. On May 15th, 1952 she was united in marriage to Peter Miller. Following their marriage, the couple made their home on the Miller Family Farm & Ranch, just south of Towner. Here they raised their family of nine children. A loving wife, mother, grandmother and homemaker. Marion also worked outside the home cooking for the Tri-County Seniors Meals & Services located in Towner. Marion also cooked for many area wedding and other functions in the Towner area. Her cooking expertise started at very young age cooking for the threshing crews from farm to farm during harvest time. After Peter passed, Marion lived with her son Donald for a period of time then moved in with daughter Sharon and Bob.

Marion was a member of St. Cecilia’s Catholic Church Christian Mothers and was a circle chairperson for many years. She enjoyed vegetable and flower gardening, needle work, baking, board games and get togethers. Marion was always excited to see the children and grandchildren come home so she could spoil the little ones during their visits.

She is survived by her children, Richard (Josie) and Daniel (Jeri), all of Towner; Raymond (Deanna) of Sawyer, Rodney of Gillette, Wyoming, Clara Johnson, Donna (Dennis) Anderson, Donald (Penny), Sharon

(Robert) Amstutz and Dennis, all of Minot; 22 grandchildren; 40 great-grandchildren & 4 great-great-grandchildren; two sisters, Darlene (Walter) Schnellbach of Velva and Shirley (George) Schnellbach of

Anamoose; sisters-in-law, Helen Kriedeman and Catherine Demeo, both of Olympia, Washington.

Marion was preceded in death by her husband, Peter; a brother, Fred and her parents.

Visitation was on Friday at Anderson Funeral Home in Towner from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. with a rosary and vigil prayer service that followed at 7 p.m. Visitation will continue Saturday for one hour prior to the time of the mass in the church.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, November 2 at St. Cecelia’s Catholic Church in Towner with burial in the church cemetery. Father Michael Schommer, Celebrant and Father Francis Schreiber, Concelebrant.
