Mary Ann Brager, 85, of Leeds, ND, passed away on Wednesday, September 25, 2019 at Eventide Devils Lake Care Center in Devils Lake, ND.

Mass of Christian Burial was held at 10:00 AM Friday, October 4, 2019 at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church in Leeds with Fr. Daniel Musgrave celebrating. Visitation took place from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM

followed by 7:00 PM Vigil Service Thursday, October 3, 2019 at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church. Burial was held at the St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Cemetery in Leeds.

Mary Ann Burkhardsmeier was born December 23, 1933 in Towner, ND, the daughter of John and Johanna (Meier) Burkhardsmeier. She attended school at Towner until 1946 when her family moved to Leeds, ND. While in high school she worked at the Home Cafe in Leeds, which her parents owned. On November 4, 1955 she married Wayne A Brager. Following their marriage, the couple lived in Leeds where they raised their family.

Many of Mary’s favorite times were making memories with her sisters during sister days. She enjoyed all the traveling her and Wayne did over the many years together.

Mary enjoyed working in her rose garden, going golfing, camping, playing pinochle and sewing her many quilts. Most of all she enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. They were the joy in her life.

Mary was a long-time member of the St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church and Altar Society in Leeds, she was a member of the Leeds American Legion Auxiliary, Leeds Golf Club and Leeds 55 Club.

Mary is survived by her loving husband of 63 years, Wayne; sons, Francis (JoAnn) Brager of Saint Michael, MN and Wayne F (Peggy) Brager of West Fargo, ND; daughters, Connie (Dennis) Paulson of Leeds, ND and Linda (Brian) Young of Leeds, ND; 12 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren; sisters, Vivian Jorgenson, Beverly Bracken; brother, Richard Burkhardsmeier.

She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Johanna Burkhardsmeier; brother, Anthony Burkhardsmeier; sisters, Betty Grady and Patty Owens.

The Nelson Funeral Home of Leeds is in charge of arrangements.
