Frank Brossart
Frank L. Brossart
Jun. 30, 1926 – Jul. 3, 2019
Frank L. Brossart, the son of Joseph and Katherina (Volk) Brossart, was born on June 30, 1926 in East Barton Township, Pierce County, North Dakota. He died at the age of 93 years on Wednesday, July 3, 2019, at the Heart of America Medical Center in Rugby, North Dakota.
Frank grew up in East Barton Township and attended Notre Dame Academy in Willow City. He was a lifetime farmer and began farming on his own in 1948. On June 6, 1949, he was united in marriage to Theresa Bachmeier at St. Anselm’s Catholic Church in Fulda.
Frank met Theresa at a wedding dance in Balta and knew at first sight that she was the most beautiful woman and would be the love of his life. They recently celebrated 70 years of marriage. The couple raised
their family and farmed until his retirement in 1987. His son Dwayne took over the farm in 1988. Although Frank retired, he continued to help on the farm, taking his last tractor ride in 2018. His passions were
farming, family, and faith, with his greatest virtue being patience. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, woodworking, and creating replicas of farm implements, machinery, and horses with authentic harnesses. He was a member of the Little Flower Catholic Church, Germans from Russia, FmHA board, and was a 4th Degree Knights of Columbus. He served as Grand Knight and was on the Little Flower Cemetery board for many years. His favorite song was “You are My Sunshine”. He sang it to all of his family, and it will remain in their hearts forever.
