Sheryl Ann (Schlicht) Tobar

Jul. 28, 1964 – Jan. 24, 2019

Sheryl Tobar, 54, of Grand Prairie, Texas, joined the Lord on January 24, 2019. She passed away in her home following a brave battle with cancer. She was sur-

rounded by family close friends, hospice, and her two beloved cats. Sheryl was born in Aberdeen, SD on July 28, 1964, to Glenn and Angie Schlicht. The family moved to Fargo, ND in 1970 where Sheryl attended school and graduated from Fargo South High in 1982. She went on to attend a year of classes at NDSU and then attended a travel school in Bismarck, ND.

She courageously left the nest and headed to Dallas-Fort Worth, Texas at the age of 20. She was immediately hired by American Airlines. Her new AA co-workers

quickly became her extended family and she had the opportunity to travel, travel, travel! She met, fell in love, and married Ramiro (Rick) in 1992. Soon after, they

made their home in Grand Prairie, Texas.

She never failed to make it back to Fargo for nearly every special event and family function, many times arriving unannounced! She was always the cool, hip, favor-

ite auntie to all her nieces and nephews whom she loved dearly. Sheryl never missed an opportunity to travel somewhere new or bring her husband, family, and friends to her favorite countries and islands. Her passports stamps mark a total of 87 countries visited. Jamaica ranked #1 on her list of favorites and number of times visited. She most often was able to travel first class and enjoyed being spoiled with all those first-class amenities.

Sheryl’s life was also enriched through attendance and participation in a variety of churches and religious organizations throughout her life. During the past couple of

years, with the assistance of very special friends, their backyard was transformed into a peaceful oasis with an abundance of fragrant herbs, plants, and flowers and

lively garden ornaments. This is where she found much joy and loved to spend time with her husband, family and friends. She would think of “dad” who was in the Air Force and loved aircraft, every time a plane flew over-head.

Sheryl was preceded in death by her father, Glenn Douglas Schlicht.

She is survived by her mother, Angie Schlicht, Fargo; husband, Rick Tobar, Grand Prairie, TX; her sisters, Karen (Dave) Sather, Hillsboro, ND; and Colleen (Daniel) Eck, Fargo; brothers, Dewey (Karla Pearson) Schlicht, West Fargo; Daniel (Kathy) Schlicht, Fargo; and Doug (Dana) Schlicht, Appleton, WI; nieces and nephews: Austin Scott, San Francisco, CA; Jamie Bruns, West Fargo; Jordan Banister, Albany, MN; Sarah Bruns, West Fargo; Jessie Schlicht, Fargo; Josh Schlicht, Fargo; Grace, Will and Matthew Schlicht, Appleton, WI; seven great-nieces and nephews, and countless special friends.

Gone but never forgotten.

The family wishes to extend their sincere thanks to Dr. Alex Liao and his staff at Texas Oncology and to New Hope Hospice in Bedford, TX.

There will be a funeral service at 2:00 PM on Monday, February 4, 2019 at Boulger Funeral Home and Celebration of Life Center, Fargo with a visitation one hour prior.

Arrangements entrusted to the care of Boulger Funeral Home. To sign the online guestbook, visit www.boulgerfuneralhome.com.
