Rebecca Joyce Jonasson

Rebecca Joyce Jonasson, 65, of Cando, N.D., passed away peacefully on Sunday, November 11, 2018 at the Heart of America Medical Center in Rugby, ND, due to cancer. Services will be held at a later date in Ohio.

Rebecca Joyce Jonasson was born July 9, 1953 in Lima, Ohio to George and Delores (Tilley) Skeens. She attended school in Coalton, Ohio. On May 18, 1969, Rebecca married Paul Wright. Together the couple had five children: Tracy Godman, Mary Wright, Richard Haney, Chris Wright and Paul Weaver Jr. They divorced in 1982. Rebecca was united in marriage to Jerry Jonasson on June 30, 1989 in Devils Lake, ND. They were happily married for 29 years until her death on November 11, 2018.

In Rebecca’s earlier years, she loved to make crafts, paint, redo projects, making blankets for her grandchildren and vintage items. She was a loving, giving person who gave when she didn’t have anything to give. Rebecca always wanted to make sure everyone around her was happy. In her last days she put her faith in God to do the right thing and that was when she was ready to meet him.

Rebecca will be loved and remembered by her husband of 29 years, Jerry; children, Tracy (Donald) Godman, Mary (Rogar) Wright, Richard Haney, Chris Wright and

Paul (Teresa) Weaver Jr.; 21 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren; siblings, Lisa (Joe) Gilland, George Skeens Jr., Mark (Ronda) Skeens and Cheryl (Dean) Coley.

She was preceded in death by her parents, George and Delores Skeens; brothers, Robert Skeens and Tony Skeens.
