MOHALL – Cheryl Rae Dew, 68, Mohall, died Thursday, Jan. 4, 2018, at a Minot hospital.
She was born Nov. 7, 1949, in Rugby, to Oliver and Dora (Hermanson) Olson. She was raised in Barton, attended country school through the fifth grade and graduated from Rugby High School in 1967. She graduated from the Bottineau School of Forestry with an associate degree in business.
Cheryl married Daniel Dew on July 6, 1969, in Barton. They lived in Mayville while Dan finished his college education, and then moved to Mohall in the summer of 1971. Cheryl worked as an administrative assistant, starting in August of 1977, for the Renville County Extension Office. She retired September 1, 2012. She received
numerous awards through her work including the RBAIA Honorary Member award, the Friend in 4-H award and the NDSU State Meritorious Support Service award.
Cheryl was an active member of Zion Lutheran Church, Mohall, served on the Mohall Library board and was a board member and active in Relay for Life.
Family: husband, Daniel Dew, Mohall; daughters, Tammy (Ron) Kjelden, Minnetrista, Minn., Shannon (Jon) Bonner, Madison, S.D.; grandchildren, Abbie, Brock and Sydney Kjelden, Olivia and Rachel Bonner; great-grandson, Braxton Kjelden; sisters, Lynn Johnson, Omaha, Neb., Leanne (Danny) Stroh, Kasson, Minn., Bonnie Olson, Bismarck; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Cheryl was preceded in death by: her parents, grandparents and brother-in-law.
Funeral: 11 a.m., Friday, January 12, 2018, at Zion Lutheran Church, Mohall.
Sharing of Memories service (Open to the public): 7 p.m., Thursday, January 11, 2018, at the church.
Visitation: friends may sign the guestbook noon to 5 p.m., Thursday, at Brose Funeral Home, Mohall.
Memorials: Memorials preferred to the Mohall Ambulance Service.
