Felice M. Anderson

Aug. 19, 1935- Nov. 28, 2017

Felice M. Anderson, the daughter of Willard B. and Evelyn (Meade) Anderson was born in the Good Samaritan Hospital in Rugby, North Dakota on August 19, 1935. She

died at the age of 82 years on Tuesday, November 28, 2017 at the Heart of America Care Center in Rugby.

Felice was raised in the Rugby home of her parents and graduated with honors from Rugby High School, the class of 1953. She went on to the Southern Methodist

University in Dallas, Texas and earned her Bachelor of Science in Philosophy. After college she was married to James Johnson in 1957 and made their home in

Colorado Springs, CO. To this union, twin sons were born, Derick and Willard “Devin”. James was killed in an automobile accident in 1959. In 1965, she rekindled a

childhood friendship with Richard “Rick” Larson and they married that same year and made their home in Virginia Beach, VA. To this union a daughter Lianne was born. Felice furthered her education earning her Masters in Library Science from the University of Maryland. She then took a position as Librarian at Tidewater Community College in Virginia Beach. Richard died from cancer in 1979. She later married James Ramsey and they moved to Hillsboro, VA. Here she was heavily involved with “FISH”, a Christian volunteer organization where she coordinated the travel needs of the elderly of the community. Later, Felice retired back to Virginia Beach and split her time there, in Rugby and her apartment in Staunton, Virginia.

One of the many passions of her life was spending the summers in the Rugby home she grew up in and continued this until 2014. In 2001, she started to experience

memory lapses and while back for the summer of 2014, she took a dreadful fall and was also diagnosed with the start of Alzheimer’s. After all of this, Felice moved herself to the Heart of America Care Center’s memory care unit. She was a member of United Methodist Church in Virginia Beach and a summer member of Emmanuel United Church in Rugby. She also enjoyed membership in the Sons of Norway and was an avid stamp collector.

Survivors include one son, Devin of Johnson of Virginia Beach; one daughter, Lianne (Richard) Crookshanks of Staunton, VA; two grandchildren, Anderson “Andy” and Sherylynn Crookshanks; other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her three husbands; one son, Derick Johnson; a brother, Jon Mark Anderson; and her parents.

Funeral services were held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at the Anderson Funeral Home Chapel in Rugby with the Reverend Don Andrews Officiating. Entombment will be in the Persilla Watts Cemetery.
