Franklin Phillip Massine
Jan. 4, 1949-Oct. 22, 2017
Franklin Phillip Massine was loving husband, dedicated father, and beloved grandfather and great-grandfather. He was born on January 4, 1949, in Rugby, North Dakota, to parents, Gabriel and Mary Massine. He was the youngest of four, having three sisters, Delores, Lucy, and Bernie. Frank went to be with Jesus on October 22, 2017, at the age of 68.
His legacy lives on in his wife of 49 years, Carol Massine; daughter, Kimberly Ball and husband Michael; son, Phillip Massine; sixteen grandchildren, Kayla, Brantley, Julia, Alissa, Vanessa, Megan, Zachary, Hannah, Miciah, Tobiah, Kenyah, Shiniel, Kamiah, Matthew, Morgen, and Mitchell; five great-grandchildren, Isabella, Zoey, Wyatt, Abigaille, and Xayla; one soon-to-be-expected great-grandchild; sister, Delores Behrens and husband Dudley; and sister, Bernadette and husband Gordie.
Frank’s life is a story of hope and overcoming. He overcame a difficult childhood, losing his mother at age 5, and spending much of his life in foster care. He found the love of his life, Carol, in high school and they were married in 1968 at age 19. They went on to have four beautiful children. Frank was successful in business but he
also had his share of failures. Frank never complained but instead was more determined and worked even harder. In 1976, He came to know Jesus as his Savior which
changed the course of his family and his life. In 1982, he moved his family to Dallas, TX, to attend Christ for the Nations. He was known for his willingness to always help those in need, whether it be a hot meal, a loan, opening his home, or doing handy work. Frank and his family worked a bus ministry together for several years. He spent 15 years working with intercity kids at Dallas Metro Ministries, ushered and taught Sunday School at his church, and most recently worked as a chaplain at the Sanders Estes Prison. His life impacted everyone he touched.
