Wendelin Hager, 86, of Harvey died Wednesday, October 18, 2017 at the St. Aloisius Nursing Home of Harvey.
Funeral services were held at the St. Cecilia Catholic Church of Harvey on Monday, October 23, 2017 at 10:30 a.m.
Burial was in St. Anthony Cemetery, Selz, ND.
Visitation was held at the St. Cecilia Catholic Church, Harvey on Sunday from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Prayer services were held at the church on Sunday at 7 p.m.
Wendelin was born on October 20, 1930 in Hillsdale Township in Pierce County. He was the son of Peter G. and Lena P. (Grad) Hager. He attended school at the Sampson No. 2 school in Pierce County. Wendelin married Delores Vetter on October 23, 1950 at the St. Anthony Catholic Church of Selz. They moved to his grandfather’s farm in Pierce County, which they later bought. They continued living on the farm until moving into Harvey in June of 2003.
Wendelin served on the Pierce County FHA board and the Harvey Rural Fire Department. Wendelin was a member of the Harvey Eagles Club, Harvey Knights of Columbus, St. Anthony’s Catholic Church of Selz where he served as a trustee. Wendelin and Delores were presented with the Pierce County Soil Conservation Award in 1991. Wendelin enjoyed farming and ranching. He was very creative with a welder and could fix many things with his welder.
Wendelin is survived by his wife, Delores of Harvey; son, Robert (Jane) Hager of Harvey; daughter, Suzelle (Irvin) Feist of Lincoln, ND; six grandchildren; 13
great-grandchildren; brothers, Daniel (Margaret) of Harvey, Jerry (Phyllis) of Bismarck. Wendelin was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Karen Jean;
