Frank Allen DePriest
May 29, 1939- Aug. 10, 2017
Frank Allen DePriest, 78, whose family liked to call him Allen, of Lansford, North Dakota died August 10, 2017 at the Good Samaritan Society Home in Mohall, North Dakota.
Frank was born on May 29, 1939 in Rugby, the son of Jesse Frank and Lela Etta (Russell) DePriest. He was raised in Rugby and graduated from Rugby High School in 1957. He served in the United States Marine Corps from 1958 to 1961 and was honorably discharged as a Corporal. After his discharge he worked in the oil industry in Montana and North Dakota for about 10 years. He later worked for the City of Minot from 1972-1999 on the sanitary sewer maintenance staff.
He had resided in Maxbass and Lansford. Frank enjoyed hunting, loading his own shells, and target shooting. He had been a member of the Disabled American Veterans and a life member of the National Rifle Association.
Allen enjoyed visiting with people and always had a story or joke to tell. The stories and jokes made everyone laugh even if they had been told before. Several generations of nieces and nephews will miss his ‘warped’ sense of humor.
He is survived by his brother, Larry in Frankfurt, Germany and several nieces and nephews. Frank was preceded in death by his parents and his brothers Murton , November 9, 1992, Burton, July 26, 2017, Lowell, August 4, 1981, and a sister, Lana Naumann, September 28, 1998.
Graveside services will be held at the Veterans Plot at Persilla Watts Cemetery in Rugby on September 29, 2017 at 2:00 P.M. Military honors will be provided by the
