Wayne Axtman, of Lake Stevens, lost his fight with cancer on January 2, 2017 at Providence Hospital.

The son of August and Barbara Axtman, born on May 26,1940 in Harvey, North Dakota, was one of eleven children raised on their farm in Selz, ND.He married Allie

(Moszer) Axtman on October 27,1959.

The couple moved to Tacoma, Washington after Wayne was called to active duty in 1961 at Fort Lewis Army Base.

After his discharge in 1962, he and Allie moved to Seattle where he worked as a driver for Wonder Bread/Hostess.

Wayne is survived by his wife of 57 years, Allie, and three children, Susan (Scott) Mathews of Everett, Nancy Axtman of Dallas, TX and Todd Axtman ( Steven Lind) of Fargo, ND. Two grandsons, Nathan ( Ashley) Halvorson of lake Stevens, and Chase Mathews of Everett and two brothers, Gusty and Chuck, two sisters, Lillian and Barb, all from ND.

He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Leonard,Andy and Jim; Sisters Christine, Mary Ann and Kathy.
