Gladys A. (Lunde) Moen, the daughter of Adel and (Inga) Olson was born on August 1, 1927 in the home of her parents in Nanson, North Dakota. She died at the age of 89 years on Saturday, December 17th, 2016 at the Trinity Medical Center in Minot, North Dakota.
Gladys was reared in the Nanson and Wolford areas, was baptized and confirmed in the Ox Creek Lutheran Church in rural Rolette and received her education in country
schools in those areas. Gladys lived in Rugby, North Dakota most of her adult life. She had a green thumb and her home was adorned by beautiful flowers and plants inside and in her yard. She worked at the C&R and Center Motels in housekeeping and provided personal health care for several years to families in the Rugby area.
When her Mother became ill, she would drive to the Lunde farm to help her brother care for their Mother. Gladys has made the Good Samaritan Center in Bottineau her
home for the past year.
She is survived by three sons, Curtis (Marilyn) Walsh of Rolette, Mark Walsh of St. John and Scott (Wendy) Moen of Dunseith; four grandchildren, Michelle (Chris) Harpol, Steven (Sarah) Walsh, Jessie (AJ) Anderson and Casey Walsh; seven great-grandchildren; other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by eight brothers, Ader, Jerome, Clayton, Herman, Melvin, Lynn, Ted and Max Lunde; two sisters, Ethel Bonn and Geneva Urness; and her parents.
Memorial services were held on Friday, December 30th at the Bethany Lutheran Church in Rugby with spring burial in the Ox Creek Lutheran Cemetery, rural Rolette. Pastor Barb Haugerud, officiate.
