Vivian Lorine Kinney, of Rugby died November 17, 2016, in Rugby.
Vivian was born on November 9, 1921 near Berwick, North Dakota to Louis and Randine (Bale) Grove. She graduated from Berwick High School and continued her edu-
cation at Minot State Teachers College. Mrs. Kinney taught school in Berwick, Towner, and Knox for many years. As a young woman she cared for several family members. She married Darwin Charles Kinney in Great Falls, Montana on December 22, 1958. They farmed together in Rolette County until she moved to Rugby in 2006.
Mr. Kinney died on October 29, 2004.
She was a member of First Lutheran Church in Rugby. Vivian will be remembered for all the baking she did and for the hospitality of her home with coffee and goodies
for anyone who stopped in to see her.
Mrs. Kinney is survived by her two daughters, Lory and her husband Randy Sivertson – Rolette and Karen Kinney Souris, North Dakota. She also leaves two sisters, Leora Johnson and Joline Pfau both of Rugby. Her grandchildren Ashley Gimbel and Brittany Volk and her great granddaughter Maci Sterling will miss her very much. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, and a sister, Burnadine Kohn.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, November 22, 2016 at 2:00 P.M. at First Lutheran Church in Rugby. Rev. Michael Pretzer will officiate and Pam Anderson will be the organist and Jerry Saude will provide vocal music. Casketbearers will be Bill Biberdorf, Mike Gimbel, Doug & Mark Pfau, Jerry Saude, and Darold Schmaltz.
Burial will be in Persilla Watts Cemetery Rugby, North Dakota
Visitation will be on Monday from 5-8 PM and on Tuesday from 8-10 at the funeral home and an hour before the service at the church.
