Constance “Connie” LouElla Stenson of Rugby died November 3, 2016, in Rugby, ND.

Connie was born on September 18, 1932 on her father’s farm near McVille, ND to Leonard and Ella (Tangen) Loe. She graduated from McVille High School in 1950, and married Robert V. Stenson on January 26, 1953, near Pekin, ND.

She earned a BS degree in education from Mayville State Teachers College. Connie taught school at Warwick, Norway # 2 near Pekin, Lindaas, and Crystal.

She taught 100’s of students in Rugby from 1962 to 1992.

Connie was very active in First Lutheran Church in Rugby as a member of the choir, Sunday school and VBS teacher , Bible study, and WELCA. She was also a member of the American Legion Auxiliary, Faculty Wives, G.F.W.C. Literary Club, and the Red Hat Society. Her steadfast faith led her to be known as the Prayer Warrior for her family. She lived her life believing , ” This is the day the Lord has made, and I will rejoice and be glad in it.” She enjoyed traveling, to Europe, Hawaii, Alaska and Arizona, with her husband, golfing, camping, and reading.

She is survived by her husband, Robert and their children: Bob (Mary) and her daughters Shanna, Elisa, and Andresa – Fargo; Robyn (Bruce) Vangsnes Fargo; Rick (Connie Mae) Stenson Sherburn, MN, and Rhonda (John) Lageson – Park Rapids, MN, a sister, Phyllis Jean Kroke Surprise, AZ, and a brother Charles “Bud” Loe McVille, ND. Her grandchildren, Chris (Ali) Stenson, Kelly Stenson, Amanda (Joe) Gerding, Andrea (Eric) Guttormson, Rob and David Stenson, and Erik, Heidi, and Jef-

frey Lageson, and her 2 great grandchildren, Odin and Delaney. Connie was preceded in death by her parents, a brother, Keith Loe, sisters, Shirley Ann Olson and Lois Nesheim, and daughter-in-law Ruth Stenson.

Visitation at Niewoehner Funeral home on Sunday, November 6, 5 to 7 p.m., and prayer service at 7.

Funeral Service on Monday, November 7, 2016 at 10:30 a.m. at First Lutheran Church in Rugby. Burial will be at Sheyenne Cemetery Pekin, ND, at 4 p.m. on Monday.
