Rose Mary (Ebach) Volk
Rose Mary (Ebach) Volk was born on October 30, 1943, in Rugby, North Dakota, to Anthony “Tony” and Margaret (Hamers) Ebach. She was the second oldest of eight
children and grew up on the family farm with her parents, four brothers and three sister near Balta, North Dakota, where her family farmed. Rose attended Balta High School and graduated on May 25, 1962.
Rose and Raymond Anthony Volk were united in marriage on October 21, 1963, in Balta, North Dakota. They farmed in Orrin for a short time and then moved to Minot,
North Dakota. In 1969, they left North Dakota and moved to Norfolk, Nebraska. This is where they settled and raised their family. Mom and dad worked as a “team” for
Andrew’s Van Lines for many years traveling across the United States. After retiring, they continued to enjoy traveling and completed their goal of visiting all 50 states. They would have celebrated their 53rd wedding anniversary later this month.
They were blessed with four children: Durean Volk of Houston, Texas; Deanna (Gary) Steingard of Henderson, Nebraska; Rick (Sheila) Volk of Elkhorn, Nebraska; and Darcy Volk of Norfolk, Nebraska. They were later blessed with four grandchildren: Ellie Steingard of Henderson, Nebraska; and Olivia, Ava and Lillian Volk of Elkhhorn, Nebraska.
Rose had been an active member of the Sacred Heat Catholic Church where she as a member of the Altar Society, the Parish Festival and the Rosary Crusade. She was
diagnosed with cancer in 2003, and spent her last years at the Norfolk Veterans Home.

Wendlin Ebach of Rugby, ND, Mary Ann (David) Mears of Fargo, ND, Edward Ebach of Rugby, ND and James (Wanda) Ebach of Drake, ND; in-laws Maggie Smith of Warsaw, MO, Willard (Barbara) Patterson of Cushing, OK, Randy (Sylvia) Squires of Bonaire, GA; Jeanette Volk of Charlotte, NC; Darrell (Lorraine) Altepeter of East Grand Forks, MN, Michael (Vernice) Brossart of Rugby, ND, Sheila Ingram of Cynthiana, KY, Ronald (Sheryl) Volk of Norfolk, NE; and Jerry (Laura) Bradley of Raeford, NC; and numerous other family and friends.
Preceding her in death are her parents and one sister.
