A memorial service was held for Terry Johnson, age 64 of Willow City, Saturday, September 17, 2016 at 10:00 am at the Nero Funeral Home in Bottineau. Officiating at

the service was Pastor Steve Anderson. Special music was provided by Briana Anderson. Military Honors were presented by the Bottineau County Veterans and the North Dakota National Guard. Honorary casket bearers were all of Terry’s co-workers. Burial was at the North Dakota Veteran’s Cemetery in Mandan.

Theron Johnson, a son of Norman and Adeline (Lyngstad) Johnson, was born on September 16, 1951 at Bottineau. He raised at Willow City and graduated from Willow City High in 1969. He enlisted into the US Navy on July 10, 1969. He served in Japan, Vietnam, Thailand and Philippines. On April 20, 1975 he received his honorable discharge and returned to Willow City. He worked for the Soo Line, Canadian Pacific and Northern Plains Railroads for the next 36 years. Due to a battle with cancer, in December of 2015 he moved into the Benedictine Living Center in Garrison.

Terry was a member of the VFW. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and riding his Harley-Davidson.

Terry passed away on Sunday, September 11, 2016 at a Garrison nursing home.

Terry is survived by his siblings, Robert (Nancy) Anderson of Willow City, Richard (Marilyn) Anderson of Kenmare, Douglas (Sheila) Johnson of Burlington, Shelly (Jim) Bohl of Upham, Ralph (Mary) Johnson of Minot, and Norma (Don) Manning of Princeton, Il; brother-in-law, Ray Shipp of Princeton, IL and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Victor and Clara Johnson; maternal grandparents, Ole and Ida Lyngstad; sister, Marjo

Norberg and nephew, Mitchell Anderson.
