Betty Mae Biberdorf, 94, Rugby, died August 3, 2016, at Trinity Hospital in Minot.
Betty was born on March 25, 1922 in Tama, Iowa to Jesse and Cora (Atkins) Alexander. She attended school there before she married Reinhold Walter Biberdorf in Marshalltown, Iowa on
September 15, 1940. They moved to North Dakota in 1942 and farmed in the Willow City and Rolette areas until they moved to Rugby in 1998. Her husband died on September 17, 1999. She worked as a nurses aide at the Good Samaritan Hospital for many years. Betty was a member of a homemakers club while living on the farm in addition to being a member of the Lutheran
Women’s Missionary League, Sunday school teacher at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Willow City and later was a member in Rugby.
She is survived by her children: Barbara Nelson and her special friend, Joey Neuhalfen Minot, Sharon and her husband Richard Volk Rolette, and Terry Biberdorf. She leaves 5 grandchildren, Jennifer Griggs, Collin Nelson, and Dillen, Dustin, and Brooke Volk, and 4 great grandchildren, Danica Nelson, Cameron, Adam, and Jack Griggs. Betty also leaves a brother-in-law Ted Biberdorf Bottineau, and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband on September 17, 1999 and her brothers, Darrell, Loren, Duane, Keith Alexander, and sisters, Barbara Alexander, Wyma Beck, and Ila Moubray.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, August 8, 2016 at 11:00 at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Rugby. Rev. Joshua Reimche will officiate and Dianne Montonye will be the organist. Casket bearers will be Bill Biberdorf, Gayland Cote, David Hanson, Collin Nelson, and Dillen and Dustin Volk.
Burial will be in the Willow City Memorial Park Cemetery Willow City.
