Conrad A. Schuster, 84, West Fargo, N.D., formerly Willow City, N.D., died Thursday, June 16, 2016, at Essentia Health in Fargo, N.D.
Visitation will be Wednesday, June 22, at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church in West Fargo, N.D. from 5-7 p.m. with a prayer service at 7 p.m. The funeral Mass will be Thursday, June 23, 2016 at 10:30 a.m. at the church. Visitation will be one hour before the service. Burial will be in Willow City, N.D. on Friday, June 24, 2016 at 1:30 p.m.
Conrad Schuster was born November 7, 1931 in Fingal, N.D. to Nicolas and Louise (Steidl) Schuster. Conrad graduated from Fingal High School in 1949. He graduated from Ellendale Normal
School in 1953 with a B.A. in Industrial Arts and served in the Army from 1953 to 1955. He married Mary Anne Axtmann on August 20, 1957 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Orrin, N.D. He taught at St. James High School in Grand Forks, N.D. from 1957-1961. In April 1961, Conrad and Mary Anne moved to a dairy farm in Willow City where they raised 9 children. In December 1979, Conrad was ordained as a Deacon for the Diocese of Fargo. In September 2012, Conrad and Mary Anne moved to West Fargo.
Conrad is survived by his wife; children, James (Elizabeth), Jane (Susan), Joan (Jeffrey) Domler, Thomas (Julie); Anne (Clay) Lloyd, Rev. Paul, Ruth (Bradley) Ruch, Daniel (Tracy), and Matthew (Sarah); 21 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren; brothers, Rev. Raymond and Edward (Mary); sisters Sister Irene, Marie and Helen; sister-in-law, Gertrude Schuster and many in-laws.
He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers Wilbert and Rev. Robert.
The family requests that in lieu of flowers, a donation be made to the charity of their choice.
