Funeral services for Cody Block, age 24 of Bottineau, were held on Thursday, May 19, 2016 at 10:00 am at the Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Bottineau. Officiating at the service was Pastor

Joshua Reimche. Kelsey Artz was the soloist and Avonne Gessner was the organist. Casket bearers were Levi Vollmer, Logan Vollmer, Ty Metcalfe, Jory Fecho, John Nilsen, Collin Anderson, Trenten Metcalfe and Daniel Syvertson. Honorary casket bearers were Cody’s co-workers at Ham’s Well Service, the Class of 2010 and the Gallows Motorcycle Club. Burial was at the Memorial Park Cemetery at Willow City.

Cody Robert Block, son of William (Bill) and Melissa (Missy) Diebold Block was born August 2, 1991 at Bottineau, ND. He was baptized at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Willow City and was later

confirmed and became a member of Our Saviors Lutheran Church in Bottineau. He attended his first five years of grade school at Willow City Public School before the family moved to Bottineau

where he completed his education, graduating from Bottineau High School in 2010. During his high school years he enjoyed playing football and especially baseball. He also was a member of

the American Legion Baseball team. He attended Bismarck State College and graduated with a degree in Welding. He worked at Do All Metal Fabricating for a few months before being em-ployed at Ham’s Well Service, first as a welder and most recently as a roustabout, a job he loved.

Cody loved the outdoors and enjoyed hunting and fishing with his Dad, brother, and many friends. He always said he would be content living in a cabin in the woods. A prized possession was his

Harley Davidson motorcycle. He was a member of the Gallows Motorcycle Club in Towner, ND and made many new friends. He loved his family, especially gatherings with extended family and

“remembering when” times. Cody had a prize winning personality with a smile to match.

Cody passed away unexpectedly on May 15, 2016.

He is survived by his parents Bill and Missy Block; younger brother Dylan; grandparents Karen Brown, Wayne & Marylyn Diebold, and Janice Block; aunts & uncles, Wayde (Jacqueline) Diebold, Kerrie (Rodney) Block, Todd (Marilyn) Block; cousins Charissa (Jason) Evenson, Jared Getzlaff, Lacey Block, Ashli (Chad Lemons), Megan Block, Hailey Block, Joshua Diebold, and Jayden Diebold.

He was preceded in death by grandfather Garry Block, his great grandparents, and Uncle Robert Block.
