Mary Ann Lizakowski

Mar 25, 2016

Our Beloved Mother, Mary Ann Isabel Lizakowski, age 72, passed peacefully on March 17th, 2016 at her country home near Barton, ND after a courageous battle with cancer. Her struggle was long but she was surrounded by so much love.

Mary Ann was born August 15th, 1943 in Drayton, ND, the daughter of Sylvester and Effie (Duray) Lizakowski. She grew up and attended school in Ardoch and Minto, ND. In 1961, Mary Ann married George P. Lizakowski. They farmed and ranched near Minto for many years.

She dedicated her time and effort to her children and grandchildren with such zest and energy. She loved attending sporting events, concerts all activities to support us in following our dreams. She was our most dedicated and enthusiastic cheerleader!

Our Mother thoroughly enjoyed the beauty of her garden and flowers. She tended to her animals with such compassion and tenderness. Her love for every living thing was immeasurable. Her hard working hands labored for hours and hours to make her farm and yard impeccable.

In addition to raising her 4 children, she was blessed with an extraordinary ability to care for others as a CNA at the Developmental Center in Grafton, ND. She furthered her education by receiving her GED in 1987 and then became a MedTech. She was very proud of this success.

She moved to her country farm near Barton, ND in 1990. She worked in long-term care at Heart of America Medical Center in Rugby, ND. She was our positive and zippy role model. We will miss her dearly.

She is survived by her children, Lisa (Paul) Shoults of Bismarck; Lori (Bruce) Gronvold of Barton; Lynnette Greicar (Joel Odstrcil) of Grand Forks; Lance (Betty) Lizakowski of San Antonio, Texas; two sisters, Donna (Daniel) Narlock of Shawano, Wisconsin; Theresa (the late Leonard) Mozinski of Hendrum, MN; 15 Grandchildren, 4 Great Grandchildren and 3 on the way; many nieces, nephews, in-laws, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Sylvester and Effie Lizakowski.
