Funeral services will be held today at 11 a.m. at the Presbyterian Church in Towner for Myrtle Iva Fisher, 102, who died Saturday, Jan. 30, 2016, at Trinity Homes in Minot.

Burial will be in the spring at Union Cemetery, Towner.

Myrtle was born Nov. 5, 1913, in Webster, S.D., a daughter of Warnie & Ethel (Philbrook) Cargo. She was raised in Bantry, graduating from high school in 1933. She worked for the Bill Leach family, taking care of their daughter until she married. On Aug. 8. 1935 she married James Elder Best in Towner. They purchased part of his family farm. On Sept. 29, 1955 she married Alton Fisher of Bantry.

She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Towner, Homemakers and Republican Women.

She is survived by a son, Roger; daughter, Karen Kay Ford; stepson, Pat Fisher; eight grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husbands; daughter, Sharon Lee Best; stepson James Fisher; great-grandson, Max Best; brother, Clyde Cargo; sisters Gertrude Naslund, Miva Best, Betty Jane Gibbs; her parents.

Pastor Don Andrews will officiate.
