Mass of Christian Burial was held Friday, Oct. 23, 2015, at Little Flower Catholic Church in Rugby for Roy August Pfeifer, 80, who died Wednesday, Oct. 14, at Trinity Medical Center in Minot.
Burial was in the church cemetery.
Roy was born Aug. 28, 1935, in Rugby, a son of Frank & Magdalena (Gerein) Pfeifer. He was raised in his parents’ home and attended country school until he started high school in Balta, graduating in 1954. On June 20, 1960, he married Janice Kremer at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church in Balta. He took over the family farm in 1960. He also drove school buses for Hartley’s. He later moved to Rugby.
He was a member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church – which he served as a trustee – and later the Little Flower Catholic Church.
He is survived by his wife; children, Theresa, Devils Lake; Gerold, Rugby; Edwin, Rugby; Fr. Neil, Fargo; Hilda Eldevik, Kenmare; four grandchildren; brothers, Francis and Art, both of Rugby; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Anton; sisters, Regardia Schaan and Catherine Pfeifer; sister-in-law, Arlene Pfeifer; brother-in-law, Pius Schaan; parents-in-law, Joe & Helen Kramer.
Fr. Neil Pfeifer officiated.
Casketbearers were Levi and Josh Pfeifer, Jordan Dissette, Robert Schneider, Bill Schaan and Blaine Pfeifer.
