Rose (Black) Jaeger Rohrer, the daughter of John and Annie (Keller) Black was born on April 16, 1932 in Berwick, North Dakota. She died at the age of 83 years on Monday, October 12, 2015 at her home in Rugby, North Dakota.
Rose was raised in the home of her parents and was one of nine children. She married Patrick Jaeger and together they had four children, Deborah, Douglas, Sherry and Duane. Rose managed the Highway 2 Caf for years in the 1950-60’s. She married Cecil Rohrer and together they owned the C/R Motel for many years. She was a constant and devoted employee at Baillie’s Drug Store until she reached her retirement in the late 2000’s. She has volunteered for Meals on Wheels and cared for dear friends and family in their times of need. She was an avid walker and enjoyed the talents of cooking, baking and maintaining a welcoming home. Her travels by train and plane took her to visit her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Rose and her close friends enjoyed the games and entertainment up north. She was a strong, good mother and devoted friend.
Rose is survived by her children, Deborah (James) Cunningham of Brookfield, WI, Sherry (Edward) Berger of Wichita, KS and Duane Jaeger of Wichita, KS; six grandchildren, Jennifer (Brian) Schreiber, Christopher Cunningham, Stephen (Meghan) Cunningham, Bradley Jaeger, Alissa (Colin) Kirchhoff and Christian Berger; four great grandchildren, Luke, Grace, George and Walter Schreiber; her brother, Christian Black of Walnut Creek, CA; her sister, Beatrice (Leo) Schell of Minot; a special niece, Shelly (Volk) Thoreson; numerous nieces, nephews; other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her son, Douglas Jaeger; six siblings; and parents.
Mass of Christian Burial was held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, October 19, 2015 at the Little Flower Catholic Church in Rugby with burial in the church cemetery. Father Tom Graner, Celebrant.
