Victor H. Anderson, 87, of York, ND passed away Thursday, October 1, 2015 at the Heart of America Care Center in Rugby, ND. Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 PM Wednesday, October 7, 2015 at the Leeds Lutheran Church with Pastor Michael Pretzer officiating. Visitation will be held Tuesday, October 6, 2015 from 5:00 7:00 PM at the Nelson Funeral Home in Leeds, ND followed by a Prayer Service beginning at 7:30 PM. Visitation will continue one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will be held at the West Minnewaukan Free Cemetery in rural Maddock, ND. Music will be provided by Dan Nybo, Nancy Silliman and Pam Hall. Casket Bearers will be Kenny Hall, Larry Hall, Harlan Hall, Curt Jacobson, Danny Jacobson, Wayne Jacobson, David Jacobson and Arlen Anderson.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to the West Minnewaukan Free Cemetery Fund 5329 41st St. NE Maddock, ND 58348.
Victor Hilding Anderson was born August 12, 1928 on their family farm in Aurora Township near Maddock, ND to Arthur and Mary (Johnson) Anderson. He was baptized and confirmed at West Minnewaukan Free Lutheran Church. He attended Aurora Township School #2 through the eighth grade. His family briefly lived south of Leeds before homesteading on their current family farm near York, ND. He was united in marriage to Beverly (Bonn) Anderson on June 4, 1954. They lived out their lives on the family farm near York, ND. He was a member of the York Lutheran Church, Benson County FSA Board, and a longtime township officer for Knox Township. In 2006 he was awarded the “Mr. Township” Grass Roots Government Leadership Award from the North Dakota Township Officers Association.
His loving family includes his son, Steven and wife, Kim, and grandchildren Brooke and Cole Anderson of York; sister, Norma Jacobson (Devils Lake); Sisters-in-Law, Donna Gerald, Bisbee; Frances Lang, Grand Forks; Ann Bonn, Wahpeton, and Sara Henderson, Devils Lake; Brothers-in-Law, Philip (Jean) Bonn, Rolla; Kenny Bonn, Minnewaukan, and Richard (Carol) Bonn, Devils Lake; and many nieces, nephews, and Godchildren.
Victor passed away on Thursday, October 1, 2015 at Heart of America Medical Center in Rugby at the age of 87 years. He was preceded in death by his wife of 56 years Beverly, his parents; two sister, Ruth Burgess and Hilda Hall and brother, Arnold Anderson.
Victor was loved as a husband, father, father-in-law, grandfather uncle, and Godfather. He was a humble, hard-working man. He enjoyed spending time with his family, friends, and especially his grandchildren. He will be missed by all.
